My Credentials + Philosophy

Multiple Research Positions

From November 2022 to November 2023, I was employed at the Skop lab at UW-Madison. I ran experiments and was even an author on the published paper about how the cell cycle releases midbody remnants. In summer of 2024, I was employed at the Guédot lab at UW-Madison as a research assistant conducting field work in pesticide applications and wasps as a vector for fungal infections.

Long Term Learning

James Clear’s Atomic Habits is the cornerstone of my mindset towards all things you can make progress towards. The idea is this: getting 1% better every day will lead to a 37.78 times better result over the course of 1 year. There are flaws with this thinking, but the key takeaway is clear. Continual gradual improvement will drive long term results. I intend not to just teach students but to establish study habits that extend beyond the classroom and beyond their course.

Consistently High GPA

In high school, I finished with a GPA of 3.9, even as COVID impacted both my junior and senior year. At UW-Madison, I finished with a GPA of 3.8, being on the dean’s list 7/8 semesters. .

Holistic Approach

Learning is more efficient in a comfortable environment. With my tutoring services, I intend to provide just that: a place where students feel comfortable trying and failing. Because tutoring should be more than just teaching. It should be guiding. It should be facilitating. It should lead to results in all aspects of life, not just academic. I don’t want to be just a tutor. I want to be a friend. A supporter. A mentor.

Top Marks on Standardized Testing

I took the PSAT my sophomore year of high school, and ended up placing in the 98th percentile with a score of 1340. My junior year, I achieved a score of 32 on the ACT, which puts me in the 97th percentile.

Exposure, then Practice

Research shows that learning takes place in 2 phases. The first is the exposure phase, where a student needs to conceptually understand what is happening. After that, it is appropriate to move onto the second phase, where a student needs to practice working with the concept in order to fully grasp how to use it. My tutoring will cover both of these phases, with time allocated to comfort. Additionally, I will send home practice materials with the student, so that learning can occur outside of the hours of tutoring.

My private tutoring services allow the student to fully grasp the content being taught, no matter the base understanding the student comes in with. My goal is to meet the learning objectives in the chosen class, and for the student to not only understand the concepts, but apply them as well.

  • For $15, you will get 30 minutes of tutoring, with each lesson plan tailored to the content of the class, and the learning style of the student. This plan is perfect for those who already understand the concepts being taught, but would like additional practice to achieve mastery in the desired subject.

  • For $25, you will get 1 hour of tutoring, with each lesson plan tailored to the content of the class and the learning style of the student. This plan is perfect for those who would like the subjects retaught to them in a 1 on 1 learning environment.
